SurfBox was proud to attend and sponsor the Library Association of Ireland (LAI) × CILIP Annual Conference 2026, one of the most important events in the library and information services calendar. Bringing together librarians, information professionals, educators, and technology providers from across Ireland and the UK, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of library services and the technologies helping to shape them.
As conference sponsors, we were delighted to support an event that promotes innovation, collaboration, and professional development within the library sector.
Showcasing Self-Service Solutions for Modern Libraries
Throughout the conference, visitors to the SurfBox stand had the opportunity to explore our popular library technology solutions designed to improve user experience, increase efficiency, and support evolving library needs.
Print Copy & Go Kiosk
We highlighted our Print Copy and Go kiosk, a comprehensive self-service solution that enables libraries to offer convenient printing, copying, and scanning facilities to users. Designed to be intuitive and easy to use, the service allows patrons to manage their own document needs independently while providing libraries with a reliable, cost-effective way to deliver essential print services.
ScanEZ Scanning Station
We also showcased the ScanEZ Station, our innovative multilingual translation scanner designed to help libraries create more inclusive and accessible services. ScanEZ enables users to instantly translate printed documents into multiple languages, helping to bridge communication barriers and support diverse communities. In addition to translation, the station can digitise handwritten documents and enhance image quality, the solution offers libraries a powerful tool for improving access to information while supporting digital transformation initiatives.
3D Printing Solutions
Visitors to our stand also had the opportunity to learn about our 3D printing service, which enables libraries to offer innovative maker-space facilities that support creativity, learning, and community engagement. Designed to be accessible for users of all experience levels, the service provides libraries with a practical way to introduce emerging technologies and hands-on learning opportunities.
Meaningful Conversations and New Connections
One of the highlights of the conference was the opportunity to engage directly with library professionals and hear about the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. Discussions around digital transformation, self-service technologies, accessibility, and resource optimisation reinforced the important role technology plays in helping libraries meet the changing needs of their communities.
