London’s Gatwick Airport selects SurfBox for the provision of pay as you go Internet Kiosks
October 2011
Hot on the heels after securing the tender for Edinburgh Airport, SurfBox are excited to announce that they have also been awarded the tender (subject to finalising terms and conditions) for the supply and management of pay as you go Internet Kiosks and printing solutions at Gatwick Airport. With 32 million passengers passing through Gatwick Airport annually, it is a major contract for the Kilkenny based company who currently have over 750 internet kiosks in airports, hotels, shopping centres and on board ferries.
The awarding of the tender by Gatwick Airport to SurfBox brings their portfolio of airport locations to a total of 15 airports, 9 of which are in the UK, including Cardiff Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the recently announced Edinburgh Airport.
In advance of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, SurfBox will be installing 60 internet kiosks and 8 printers in locations landside and airside in both the North and South Terminals at Gatwick Airport. The three year contact with the airport will commence on January 1st 2012, where airport passengers will be able to surf the internet and print their documents from a secure and reliable internet access kiosk.
The printing service available at the airport will also include a mobile printing solution, whereby passengers will be able to send their documents to a printer in advance of arriving at the airport. They will then receive a print release code which they can enter at a SurfBox Internet kiosk at the airport and their print job will be printed at the adjoining printer.
Thomas Marry, Managing Director at SurfBox, said “Gatwick Airport excels with the services they provide to their passengers and we are delighted to come on board and provide their passengers with high quality and reliable internet access and printing solutions.”
