Jersey and Guernsey Airports go online

Channel Island Airports go live. SurfBox Internet Kiosks are now available in Jersey and Guernsey Airports in time for the Easter holidays.

Surfbox® internet providers are excited to announce their continued expansion throughout the UK and Channel Islands. Ireland's largest provider of coin and credit card operated Internet kiosks, have significantly increased their presence in UK Airports following their participation in the Airport Operators Association Annual Conference in London earlier this year. In addition to this achievement, Surfbox will, for the first time, have a presence in Airports outside Ireland and Mainland UK with the introduction of custom built, Pay-as-You-Go Internet Kiosks to Jersey and Guernsey on the Channel Islands.  

The Irish company is bucking the trend with their rapid expansion in the Airport Industry. In addition to supplying the three main airports in Ireland, Surfbox has Internet Kiosks operating in six airports in the UK, including Liverpool, Doncaster, Cardiff and Durham.

Our kiosks are supplied with full internet access, printers, Microsoft Office viewer software, and connections for USB drives and head-phones in the UK Airports” said Thomas Marry, Director of the Kilkenny based company, “The contract in The Channel Islands is a very exciting development for the company, as it will be our first airport contract outside of Ireland and the UK Mainland.”

Jersey a very busy tourist and business destination attracting visitors from Ireland, the UK and Europe. There are daily flights to numerous UK airport plus Dublin, Paris, Geneva and Zurich. Jersey Airport has just undergone a major redevelopment in the airside departure lounge area.  

Part of the redevelopment includes the introduction of their first Internet Kiosk service, whilst Surfbox entered a competitive tender to replace “Spectrum Interactive” as Guernsey Airport’s Pay-as-You-Go Internet Kiosk provider.

Keeping up the momentum, Surfbox will attend the Airports Council International (ACI) Conference later this month in Malta. The ACI represents over 400 airports in 46 European countries and Surfbox hope to win some new business and continue their expansion throughout Europe while attending the conference.

The Irish owned company, established in 2004 operates over 550 Internet Kiosks throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe, in Airports, Hotels, Shopping Centres and on Ferries providing pay as you go internet access to over 5,000 surfers daily.
